How it works

Three stops to your first monument

No new watch, no tracker subscription. If you can move and log the distance, you can start today. There’s no deadline: walk, run or ride at your own pace, and discover a new story at each stop.

01

Pick a virtual challenge

Choose a city. Its Safarnama is one continuous route drawn to the real road between its monuments, with a distance and an elevation profile to each stop.

No card needed
02

Move your way

Walk, run or cycle wherever you are. Connect Strava, upload an activity file, or enter your distance with a screenshot from your fitness app. Screenshot entries are reviewed, usually within 24 hours.

Every hill counts
03

Arrive. Read. Reflect.

A monument opens only when you’ve earned it, on distance alone, or on distance and climb together, as you choose for each route. Reach it and its story unlocks, with a short reflection on the road you’re on.

Questions

How the route, the climb and the money work

The questions people ask before they start.

What’s free, and what do I pay for?

Whichever city you pick first is entirely free, with no time limit: every monument, start to finish. You walk one city at a time. From your second city onward you unlock a city, a whole themed trail, or all of India with one payment. No subscription, yours forever. See the prices.

Is there a time limit?

No. Your journey has no deadline. Walk, run or ride when you can, and pick up where you left off. Your first city stays free from start to finish.

Do I need a smartwatch or a paid tracker?

No. A free Strava account, or any device that exports a GPX/FIT file, is enough. You can even log from a screenshot of another app.

Which activities count?

Walk, run, cycle or hike; outdoors or on a trainer. If it has a distance and you can sync or upload it, it counts toward your route.

Do I have to do the climb at all?

When you start a city you choose how it’s scored: distance + elevation (the full journey, both gates) or distance only (monuments unlock on distance alone; the climb is still shown, just for interest). You can change it later from the climb card on your dashboard, and the next city you start is a fresh choice.
