The landmark story

Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden at the north-east of Dal Lake in Srinagar, built by the emperor Jahangir in 1619 and counted as the high point of Mughal horticulture. It was the first of the imperial Shalimar Gardens, before the ones in Lahore and Delhi, and is still called the Crown of Srinagar.
